WFG Blanket Exercise
Posted on March 27th, 2018
CANCELLED DUE TO LOW REGISTRATIONS
The Blanket Exercise is an interactive, learning experience about the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. It teaches the history we were rarely taught in school. The Blanket Exercise covers over 500 years of history in a 1.5 hour participatory workshop.
The narrators will guide participants through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the Blanket Exercise effectively educates and increases our understanding and empathy towards others. The exercise is followed by a talking circle in which participants have the opportunity to discuss the experience as a group.
This Workshop is for Adults Only.
